Frequently asked questions
Which areas and applications is the Superdry Heavy Traffic suitable for?
It has been designed specifically for warehouse entrances, loading and unloading bays and industrial access points where forklift trucks travel frequently between outside and inside. It must only be used for straight-line traffic: it is not suitable for manoeuvring, turning or changing wheel direction on top of the mat.
What sizes are available and can it be made to measure?
The standard size is 115 × 180 cm with a thickness of 10 mm. No bespoke sizes are listed: to cover wider lanes or larger areas you can lay several mats side by side, repeating the installation procedure for each one. For specific requirements, please get in touch with us directly.
How is it installed and does it stay in place under forklift traffic?
The mat is fixed to the floor with double-sided tape, applied around the perimeter and with at least 6 strips along the 1,800 mm length. Before laying, it is essential to degrease and thoroughly clean both the floor and the underside of the mat; the job requires two people. The rubber backing and the weight of 14.5 kg per mat ensure stability even under repeated traffic and heavy loads.
How do you clean and maintain it over time?
For routine cleaning, a vacuum cleaner or a stiff brush is enough to remove the dirt trapped in the honeycomb pattern. If cleaning agents are used, they must be non-aggressive products, free from alcohol, acetone or similar solvents, so as not to damage the rubber backing.
What materials are used and can it withstand the high temperatures typical of industrial environments?
The surface is polypropylene (PP) carpet with a rubber backing, 10 mm thick and weighing 5.6 kg/m². It is heat resistant up to +100 °C and suitable for both damp and dry indoor areas, making it fit for most operating conditions in a warehouse or industrial area.
